An identity draws on the founder's background in journalism for a crisp, classy appearance.

Narrative is a story-discovery business providing group workshops, copywriting, speechwriting, presentation preparation, personal brand consulting, and coaching for speaking engagements, among other services. The founder’s broad background spans journalism, media, public relations, and higher ed, so a sophisticated, editorial look was in order.

I developed a bespoke, high-contrast type treatment not unlike that of a magazine masthead. It boldly spans the full width or height of certain applications. The “N” can stand alone as an icon, be repeated as a pattern, or be used in interaction with photographic imagery. Unexpected pops of sunny yellow add layers and depth behind columns of type. I also incorporated images taken by the client of a vintage microphone at different locations, which enhances the modern-yet-classic impression.
